Community Engagement

“It takes a village…” - African proverb

The resettlement and integration process is a complex and unique experience that requires engagement from all of us… refugees, service providers, and the entire community. As a nationwide leader in volunteerism, Utah is an example of how individuals and organizations can come together to help refugees successfully integrate in their local communities. Below are additional community resources that can help refugees on their path towards successful integration and self-sufficiency.

Utah Refugee Center

The Utah Refugee Center houses the Utah Refugee Services Office team and serves as a hub for refugees, the local community and service providers to connect.

Our Connections Team provides direct employment support, service navigation and referrals for all customers.

Our Integration Support Team supports successful integration for refugees following the case management period through capacity building, crisis intervention, education and community connection.

Visit us at the Utah Refugee Center during business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) for help. No appointment is necessary.

Community Service Providers

Community service providers are an integral part of the successful resettlement and integration process in Utah. They provide a variety of services that help expand the resources for basic needs and fill in the gaps by providing services that otherwise might not be available. Below are examples of some of the key providers serving refugee communities in Utah.
