Note: In accordance with the executive order, “Realigning the United States Refugee Admissions Program,” refugee travel to the United States and all U.S. Refugee Admissions Program refugee case processing activities are suspended until further notice. This includes intake of new applications for the Welcome Corps, as well as processing of all active or previously submitted applications.

Welcome Corps is a refugee private sponsorship program created by the U.S. Department of State to empower and support private citizens to sponsor refugees from around the world.

All refugees participating in the Welcome Corps meet refugee eligibility requirements under U.S. law and are approved for resettlement by the United States Refugee Admissions Program.

Sponsors work together on a team of at least five people to provide services and help refugees transition to life in the local community. Sponsors provide essential services to refugees for their first 90 days in the U.S. including securing housing, airport greeting, employment search, complete health screening, and school enrollment.

Visit the Welcome Corps website to learn more: Sponsorship is the ultimate act of welcome, and anyone can do it—including you.
