Employer Resources
Hiring Refugees
The United States refugee resettlement program is based on “self-sufficiency as early as possible.” Employment is the number-one factor in a refugee’s success in the U.S.
Refugees are legally authorized to work in the U.S. from the day they arrive; no work visas are required.
The Refugee Services Office team provides support for:
- Screening and applicant assessment with employment applications and resumes
- Job readiness orientations, and employment-related workshops and services
- Training and education resources, translation and counseling services, and administrative support
- Support for applicants with employment-related issues

Occupational trainings for refugees
The Refugee Services Office works with employers and partners to offer targeted occupational trainings and career pathways to help refugees gain the skills needed to achieve upward mobility and a family sustaining wage.
