Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired
We assist Utah residents who are blind or visually impaired and their families.
Our dedicated staff is committed to create solutions that will help each client achieve their goals, whether through education, employment or living independently in their home.
With our community partners, we work to serve all Utahns who are blind and visually impaired through programs that teach skills such as reading braille, navigating on a computer and using equipment.
Other services include adjustment-to-blindness and low-vision screening, and providing magnification and other assistive aids.

The Utah Council of the Blind will host a health fair on Octover 20, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at DSBVI.
The event will showcase accessible medical products such as blood pressure cuffs, prescription readers and more. There will also be classes demonstrating balance exercises, health care and descriptive workout videos.
Discussions will include products such as smart watches, smart phones, Google Home and Echo and how they can help monitor daily activity and health concerns.
