Current County Unemployment
The unemployment rate is a measure of those people who reside in a county, are jobless, and are available to take a job and have actively sought work in the past four weeks. The unemployment rate is a proxy for the availability of labor. If thought of in terms of excess, balance, and shortage, an unemployment rate between 4.0 and 4.8 percent may be considered as balanced. Note: the unemployment rate is not measured by the number of people filing for unemployment insurance.
